Introducing: Ground Truth
Community voices are essential to understanding what data and research actually mean on the ground. The statistics tell part of the story, but not the whole picture.
Ground Truth is where you share yours.
What's it like raising kids here? How are policy changes hitting your family? What does your daily commute look like? What do people not understand about living in Hawaii?
Whether you're born and raised or a transplant, local or new, we want to hear your perspective on what life in Hawaii really looks like.
Ground Truth features honest, first-person accounts from people across the islands. We'll work with you on editing for clarity, but the voice and perspective are yours.
What we're looking for:
Issue perspectives: How is the housing crisis affecting your family? What's your experience with traffic, schools, healthcare, and cost of living? What policy or issue matters most to you and why?
Daily life: What does a typical day look like for you? What surprised you about living here? What do people not understand about your experience?
Details:

No journalism experience needed
Anonymous submissions welcome if you prefer
No compensation will be offered for your story or perspective
